· Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’oon. We would like to express our condolences to Brother Sultan on the death of his grandmother in India earlier this week. May Allah, azza wa jal, forgive Brother Sultan’s grandmother for her sins, make her grave spacious for her, and make her amongst the inhabitants of Jannah. Ameen.

 

· It is with great sadness that we announce that two of our most beloved and most active community members, Brothers Bilal and Irfan and their families, will be leaving our community early next week. Allah, azza wa jal, has truly blessed this community with great leaders and supporters of this masjid and these two brothers are amongst this elite group. We ask Allah, subhanahu wa ta’ala, to continue to bestow His Mercy and blessings upon Brothers Bilal, Irfan, and their families and to grant them the best of success both in this life and in the Hereafter. We ask Allah, azza wa jal, to allow us to meet with our soon to be departed brothers in a better place in Jannah. Ameen.

 

· The ISGL Youth Club will be conducting its first event of the year next Sunday, February 28, 2010 after Asr prayer. The event will be a short reminder followed by a fun game of dodgeball at the Purdue Recreational Sports Center (RSC). This semester is a trial period for the club and thus the group is restricted to Muslim male youth from 6^th – 12^th grades. Youth who would like to participate in this event must sign up by next Thursday (February 24) and have their parents/guardians sign a waiver form in order to be able to participate. For more information, please see the flyer in the MSA bulletin board or talk to either Br. Salah Issa or Br. Jamal Khadra.

 

· We would like to remind our brothers and sisters in the community that any message you would like to have announced (on the Friday announcements) must be approved by the EC Board. Announcements should be submitted to the EC Secretary, Brother Sohail Sadiq.

 

· The masjid library is reserved for the sisters to use every Saturday from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM. We would like to request brothers to avoid using the masjid library during that time interval.

 

· Halaqahs going on this week in the masjid:

· 10-15 minute short talk every night after Maghrib prayer

· Sisters weekly halaqah tonight (Friday) after Isha prayer

· MSA halaqah (open to brothers & sisters) on learning Quran’ic Arabic will be tomorrow (Saturday, February 6) from 4:15 – 5:15 PM in Lilly Building, Room 3102

· The weekly Qur’an recitation halaqa conducted by Brother Isam Badawi will be held on Sunday after Maghrib prayer

 

· The cleaning group for this week will be the Khalid bin Waleed Group (led by Br. Khaldoun al-Hadid) on Sunday after Thuhr prayer. Any brother interested in earning ajr (reward) for helping to clean the masjid is requested to talk to Br. Haroon Mohammad.

 

· Please do not forget to donate generously.
