· The da’wah education seminar will begin tomorrow (Saturday, March 6, 2010) at 1:30 PM in Lilly Life Sciences Building (LILY), Room 2102. For more information, please contact Br. Adil Ghafoor (for brothers) or Sr. Shireen Khadra (for sisters).

 

· The ISGL Youth Club will be conducting its second event of the semester next Saturday, March 13, 2010 after Asr prayer (4:30 PM) at the masjid. The event will be a discussion on the important topic “Why Are You Muslim” and be followed by an interactive session. This event is restricted to Muslim male youth from 6^th – 12^th grades. Youth who would like to participate in this event must have their parents/guardians sign a waiver form in order to be able to participate.  For more information, please see the flyer in the MSA bulletin board or talk to either Br. Salah Issa or Br. Hassan Shenasa.

 

· Elections for the following EC Board positions will be held on Saturday, April 17:

· EC secretary

· Fundraising coordinator/NAIT representative

· Islamic Education Board (IEB) Coordinator

Only ISGL members are eligible to nominate, be nominated, and vote in the elections. For more information, please contact the ISGL Election Committee (Dr. Zarjon Baha, Dr. Mourad Ouzzani, Br. Sultan Ahmed)

 

· The ISGL Youth Club is collecting donations from community members to support activities related to developing our youth to be strong community members for now and the future. Future activities include educational discussions, sports activities, life-skills workshops, and a picnic. Donations can be placed in the specially-marked box in the small prayer hall. Please direct all questions to Br. Salah Issa.

 

· Reminder: Please contact one of the EC Board members immediately should an incident arise where either the physical structure of the masjid is damaged or one of its attendees is harmed while on ISGL property. Community members are requested not to engage the individuals responsible for said damage on their own.

 

· We would like to remind our brothers and sisters in the community that any message you would like to have announced (on the Friday announcements) must be approved by the EC Board. Announcements should be submitted to the EC Secretary, Br. Sohail Sadiq.

 

· The masjid library is reserved for the sisters to use every Saturday from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM. We would like to request brothers to avoid using the masjid library during that time interval.

 

· Halaqahs going on this week in the masjid:

· 10-15 minute short talk every night after Maghrib prayer

· Sisters weekly halaqah tonight (Friday) after Isha prayer

· MSA halaqah (open to brothers & sisters) on learning Quran’ic Arabic will be tomorrow (Saturday) from 3:30 – 4:30 PM in Lilly Building, Room 3102

· The weekly Qur’an recitation halaqa conducted by Br. Isam Badawi will be held on Sunday after Maghrib prayer

 

· The cleaning group for this week will be the Az-Zubair ibn al-Awwam Group (led by Dr. Aamer Mahmood + Br. Ibrahim Aly) on Sunday after Thuhr prayer. Any brother interested in earning ajr (reward) for helping to clean the masjid is requested to talk to Br. Haroon Mohammad.
