Items Discussed: 1. Proposed new land/property on IN-26/Airport Rd. Acquiring a new property near our current location was discussed. The advantages and disadvantages of this property were reviewed. The majority of the EC Members have toured this property. All agreed to proceed with investigating funding sources and feasibility of purchasing this property
2. Fundraising. The total amount pledged during our recent Ramadan fundraising is about $73,000. Approximately $27,000 is still pending and needs follow up. All donors with available information will be sent thank-you letters and receipts.
3. Moon sighting Moon sighting procedures and rules we use to determine the beginning of Ramadan and Eid were briefly reviewed. These procedures will be written clearly and posted.
4. Full-Time Imam Resume An Imam resume was presented by Br Hany and this was reviewed. More details to follow and consideration of inviting this Imam to visit us was approved.
5. Malaysian Group request to use Masjid and Multi-Purpose Room This is approved. Brother Haroon will convey specific rules for the use of masjid and multi-purpose room to the organizing person of this event. Event is scheduled for Friday Oct. 17-Sunday Oct. 19th, 2008.
6. Upcoming Events Planned by MSA were presented A presentation by Shaykh Bachir Djehiche is scheduled for weekend of Friday Oct. 24th. Two other presentations during the month of November are also in the works.
