· We would like to welcome all new brothers in our community to join us downstairs in the multipurpose room for the MSA “Boiler Salams” program. In shaa Allah this event will allow you to meet members of the local Muslim community while enjoying good food.

 

· The Muslim Students Association will be holding their Fall 2008 callout next Thursday, August 28, 2008 starting at 7:00 PM in Beering Building, Room 2290. All incoming and returning Purdue students are encouraged to attend.

 

· The entire community is invited to attend the “Welcome Back Picnic” on Saturday, August 30, 2008. The picnic will be held at Happy Hollow Park starting at 5:00 PM. Families interested in bringing items are requested to sign up on the sheet in the small prayer hall. Transportation to and from the picnic will be provided from the masjid. Contact Brothers Hany or Mahmoud Gabal for more details.

 

· Fall session for the weekend Islamic School will begin on Sunday August 31 and conclude on December 7.  Any community member interested in teaching in the Islamic school, please contact Brother Isam Badawi or the Islamic school principal for more details.

 

· Learn how to recite the Quran properly by practicing tajweed step by step. The weekly Qur’an memorization halaqah conducted by Brother Isam Badawi will continue every Saturday at the masjid between Maghrib and Isha prayers.

 

· There are four extra sinks and four extra faucets in the masjid for free. If any community member is interested in these items, please contact Brother Isam Badawi for more details.

 

· The masjid is seeking donations for the Ramadan weekday singles iftar program. Please place donations in the black box labeled “Ramadan Iftar Donations” in the small prayer hall.

 

· The cleaning group for this week will be the Jabalayn group (led by Brother Hany Gabal) on Sunday after Thuhr prayer. The new cleaning groups have been posted on the EC bulletin board along with the upcoming schedule for each cleaning group.  The cleaning of the masjid is done voluntarily by four groups of brothers. Any brother interested in earning ajr (reward) for helping to clean the masjid is requested to sign up on the sign-up sheet on the MSA Bulletin Board.

 

· Please do not forget to donate generously.
