· The entire community is invited to the monthly potluck picnic which will be held next Saturday, May 31, 2008 starting at 4 PM in Ross Hills Park. The masjid will be providing barbequed meat in shaa Allah. Families are encouraged to sign up on the sign-up sheet to bring rice, salad, and desserts. For more details contact Brother Sohail Sadiq (EC Secretary).
· The summer Islamic school registration will be held on Sunday, June 1, 2008. The summer session will begin on Monday, June 9 and conclude on July 25. There will be three sessions per week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) from 6-8 PM. Please contact Brother Isam Badawi for more details.
· There will be a special guest lecturer visiting the masjid tonight. Author Bradley Steffens will deliver a lecture on the life of the great Muslim scientist Ibn al-Haytham TONIGHT starting at 6:15 PM (after Asr prayer) in the masjid. We would like to encourage all community members to take advantage of this rare opportunity.
· Halaqah(s) going on this week are as follows: · Weekly Qur’an halaqah conducted by Abu Muhannad (Brother Isam) on Wednesdays and Saturdays between Maghrib and Isha prayer.
· We would like to request volunteers to help clean the masjid this Sunday after Thuhr prayer. We are in the process of updating and reforming the weekly cleaning groups. If you would like to be a part of the weekly cleaning group project and earn the ajr (reward) of helping to clean the masjid, please sign up on the sign-up sheet on the MSA bulletin board in the small prayer hall.
