· We would like to wish Br. Abdelsalam a speedy recovery back to good health. Br. Abdelsalam was in the hospital earlier this week receiving treatment for a painful medical condition. We ask Allah, subhanahu wa ta’ala, to restore our brother back to good health and to make this illness a means of expiation for his previous sins. Ameen.

 

· The ISGL Weekend Islamic School would like to introduce our two new principals – Sr. Robin Alsoffi & Sr. Ayesha Sadaf. Yes you heard correctly, we have two new principals! Sr. Robin will be coordinating the elementary school for children ages 4-10 while Sr. Ayesha will be coordinating the secondary school for youth ages 11-18. The appointment of these two sisters will help us effectively address the educational needs of youth of all ages in our community in shaa Allah.

 

· The ISGL Weekend Islamic School will be conducting its registration drive for the Spring 2012 semester this Saturday, January 14 and Sunday, January 15 from Dhuhr to Asr prayer (1:00 – 3:45 PM). Families in the community are invited to come meet our new principals and learn more about our school. Community members who are interested in serving as a teacher in the Islamic School are requested to contact Br. Salah Issa, IEB Coordinator (salahfuadissa@gmail.com) or Srs. Robin Alsoffi & Ayesha Sadaf (muslimkids1@yahoo.com) with questions.

 

· The ISGL Youth Group is excited to announce the start of its Spring 2012 registration drive for Muslim male youth ages 5-18 in our community. This semester is jam-packed with a wonderful set of educational, sports, community service, and life skills activities to help our youth strengthen their understanding of their faith while forging lasting friendships. For more information please visit the ISGL Youth Group bulletin board, youth group website/blog (isglyouth.wordpress.com), or contact Br. Salah Issa (salahfuadissa@gmail.com) or Br. Haroon Mohammad (htmohamm@gmail.com). Families with sons ages 5-18 are invited to attend a Parents & Mentors meeting next Friday, April 20, 2012 starting at 6:30 PM in the ISGL Multipurpose Room.

 

· Halaqahs/Islamic Knowledge opportunities:

· Short hadith reminders after Maghrib prayer every night.

· Quran Tajweed Learning Halaqa every Friday after Isha prayer.

 

· The masjid cleaning team for this week will be the Khalid bin Waleed Team on Sunday January 15^th, after Dhuhr prayer.
