· The ISGL EC Elections will be taking place on Saturday October 29th between Magrib and Isha prayer. An email containing the nomination details and program for the elections will be sent to all confirmed ISGL members this week. (A confirmed member is approved by the EC and must have submitted their ISGL membership form before the Oct 1st deadline.) The two positions open for elections are ISGL Secretary and the Islamic Education Board Coordinator.
· The Muslim Student Association will be hosting its successful outreach event, Exploring the Muslim World, formerly known as Islamic Awareness Week the week of October 24th – October 28th. Approximately 800 people of other faiths attended the activities last semester making it a successful in da’wa for our local non-Muslims as well as the Muslims here, and brotherhood and sisterhood bonding. Some well-known speakers that will be sharing their knowledge with us include, Sheikh Abdul Malik and Dr. Kamran Riaz, which are both nationally renown in Islamic Studies. In order for the event to be a success, the MSA kindly requests the participation, encouragement, and help the community for this event does take significant planning and set-up. · Halaqahs/Islamic Knowledge opportunities: · Short hadith reminders after Maghrib prayer every night. · Quran Tajweed Learning Halaqa every Friday after Maghrib Led by Brother Ali and Brother Ihsan.
· The cleaning team for this week will be the Ali ibn Abi Talib Team led by brother Hazrool Haidzir Sunday October 16th, after Dhuhr prayer.
